How to reshape the deformation of steel castings?
Deformation is a common defects on the steel castings. Then, how to reshape the deformation of steel castings?
There're mainly two methods to reshape the deformation of steel castings during our investment casting process. One is cold shaping. The other one is hot shaping.
1. Cold shaping
Cold shaping is the process to reshape the deformed steel castings by pressing or punching in indoor temperature. Equipment used can be hammer, hydraulic press and straightening machine, etc.
Cold shaping can reshap the deformation of steel castings slightly only. It can't be perfect. But for some castings, such as high manganese steel castings, it's difficult to reshape in hot shaping process. We have to choose cold shaping process to solve the deformation defects.
2. Hot shaping
Hot shaping is the process to heat the steel castings first, then extrude or press to reshape the deformation of the steel castings.
Hot shaping contains high temperature shaping and low temperature shaping processes. The low temperature shaping is easy to operation and reshaped rate is high. So, low temperature shaping process is widely used to reshape the deformation of steel castings.
Generally, the reshaping process is just to reshape the deformed steel castings slightly. To solve the deformation of steel castings,
our foundry will pay attention on design to make the structure of steel castings more reasonable for casting. Every casting processes will be controlled strictly to avoid the deformation defects.
Our aim is to supply customers with qualified steel castings. If you have RFQs for steel castings, please contact us.
